I love teaching poetry after our state assessments.
I love teaching poetry; and I'm especially excited because I have your new Poetry Interactive Notebook!! π
My favorite topic to teach is poetry.
I love teaching poetry. We did some really great work last year on writing all different types of poems. We are going to put more emphasis this year on reading poetry while we write to help us better understand the tools poets use to promote the mood, tone, and help us visualize!
Despite the fact that most times practice for our ridiculous state tests comes into play- I absolutely LOVE teaching poetry and propaganda! Since I also teach Social Studies, the propaganda works well with World War I & World War II π
I love everything about April. Testing is over, so we can really dig into some things that we just don't seem to have time for before testing.
Would love to win this laminator. I've been wanting one forever, but just never get around to buying one for myself.
Thanks for the opportunity!
I usually teach poetry in April, and I love my anthology unit!
In April, we teach fairy tales! That is BY FAR my favorite thing to teach in April, but I certainly don't mind doing April Fool's jokes either! π
I love teaching about everything in April! Usually the weather is warmer and we can enjoy listening to stories read outside and enjoy nature!

Thanks so much for the awesome stuff! In April I like to teach persuasive writing because it fits right in with energy and conservation! Spring is a great time to think about our earth and conservation!
In April, we are deep into solving our 10 Mystery Classes from Journey North…love this project and love this part of it, where we really start to narrow down and prove the locations of the Mystery Classes! π
I love teaching the novel The River Between Us.
My original comment got wiped from the system! *sigh.
My April plans are simple yet I hope so involved with "lightbulb" moments through analyzing poetry. I love taking long poems and short poems (specifically historical pieces and tying them into poems on the same topic) for students to pick apart. I usually compare the dust bowl, Titanic, and a sports event.
On a sidenote: one of my principals took my notebook to another school with her to show a principal and ELA teachers what I was doing with my students. She was amazed! I have to give credit where it's due and I wouldn't have a great notebook as a model without the fabulous lessons in the interactive notebooks you've produced, Erin. THANK YOU.
In April I love teaching about the meaning of Easter! Easter always falls sometime between March and April so we can spend a lot of time talking about it! I love being able to share this with my kids, and look at all of the events that happened up until Easter!
I love to teach about weather in April!!!!
As this is my first year as an 8th grade ELA teacher, I have been told that the main focus is on test prep, but I am hoping to spice it up a bit instead of boring old test prep. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions??
In an ideal world I love to spend time building a classroom of pleasure readers and engaging all of them to read materials they want to read.
I love teaching The Westing Game! Great novel
My favorite thing to teach is the Little Prince π
This is the first year that I am in a testing grade so I think that is the bulk of April learning. It's not a subject, but starting to go outside for recess again is a favorite in April.
Animals! I love going to the zoo with my kids! π
I love teaching poetry in April! It just so happens our reading curriculum pacing guide finally aligns with our writing pacing guide so I might just go a tad bit crazy! My kids are just eating up their figurative language interactive notebook stuff and I can't wait to add more from your newest poetry item!!! I just love your materials and all of your resources! Thank you for all you do!
This is a new grade level for me this year but I am looking forward to teaching the kids how to use Animoto to create a video slide book report!
Congrats on your blogiversary, Erin! Hmm…April…testing strategies, close reading, determining importance, questioning. Fun times!
Anything spring! Especially this year π
I love teaching poetry throughout the month of April!
I love teaching about the Revolutionary War in April.
Poetry, writing biographies, and close reading are on the list for April.
I love teaching earth and environmental science!
Is it cheating if I tell you what I don't love teaching? Lol! I have a rough time in April because our state testing takes up two weeks of our lives. The first two weeks before testing are taken up with review, review, review. April is my least favorite month to teach….every year. Now May…May I LOVE…it's open to millions of possibilities and the weight is off our shoulders.

Animal research and reports!
I'm in my last year of school, but I can't wait to teach anything!!
I love teaching about life cycles!

Bright Concepts 4 Teachers
I used to do a cool reading of The Lorax and a short 2 day lesson with middle schoolers to coincide with earth day, but the science teacher is using the book NOW for Arbor Day essays, so I am not sure…Working on Hatchet with 6th grade and Tuck Everlasting/Figurative Language with 7th and with testing and Lent schedules, probably won't have time to start anything new anyway???
April is my favorite time to teach Earth Science, particularly weather and life cycles. π Of course Earth Day is a terrific way to talk to the kiddos about community service and ways we can help improve our Earth.
