This weekend, I had the privilege to meet and talk a while with Terry, an amazing 5th-grade teacher and blogger at Terry’s Teaching Tidbits. After mentioning my lack of love of Periscope, she shared with me how she has been using Periscope (and other social media) as a way to stay connected with her parents. In ten minutes, Terry completely
changed my mind blew my mind about Periscope.
If you’re a parent, picture this. You’re at the office, at home, at your job, ANYWHERE, and let’s call it 9:45 am. You get a Periscope notification on your phone. Your 5th-grade son is presenting his report in class NOW and your child’s teacher has invited you to view (privately, mind you) his presentation LIVE on Periscope. How much would you LOVE to watch? This is just one idea of so many that Terry shared with me.
I told Terry that I really wanted to share her amazing ideas with my readers, and at my request, Terry went home and wrote this blog post.
I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read through her innovative ideas for social media. I truly believe that they can revolutionize your relationship with parents and make this one of the easiest parent years EVER!
