Today’s Tried-It-Tuesday is a very special one for me. Last year over my Mardi Gras break from school (don’t hate!), I had a wild hair, took a plunge, and listed a few of my self-made items on Teachers Pay Teachers. In all honesty, I was constantly justifying to my husband just WHY I was spending SO much money on Teachers Pay Teachers (most of which was in Margaret Whisnant’s store, HA!) that I hoped to make enough money to offset that.
I’m SO thankful for that wild hair, as Teachers Pay Teachers has truly changed my LIFE! I have made so many new friendships and have met so many teachers around the world who share my passion for teaching. It has truly made me a better teacher and I absolutely love seeing my resources help other teachers and other students around the country and around the world!
And TODAY just so happens to be the one year anniversary of my first item sold. Here she is:
As someone bought this, I heard my phone make a strange sound (the famous, well-loved CHA-CHING!) and I was hooked.
It’s so fitting because this novel is my absolute FAVORITE thing I teach all year and I start every year with this for my 8th graders. In honor of this very special day, both of my resources for The Wednesday WarsΒ are FREE for today only. If you’re looking for a novel to teach that is rich with meaning, full of allusions, and let’s face it – a literary masterpiece! – then look no further than this fabulous resource. Be sure to pick up these resources today!
Erin,
Your products are so well-written….I LOVE THEM. Thank you for sharing!

Hey Erin…I am so glad I've gotten to know you, and I hate to point this out, but you forgot to set the product to free. I'll check back later for that, but since you've taught this multiple times, what age range would you call it for? I was thinking 6-8, and probably too much for upper elementary unless it's a very advanced reader, right? Congrats to you. I thought you'd been doing this much longer. Amazed by your success…goes to show what unique products can do.
Ah, see what scheduling during the school day does to me? LOL Thanks for that heads up.. they're corrected now!! I teach this with my 8th graders, and yes, it would be more of a middle school novel than an upper elementary novel. Of course, advanced readers could get plenty out of it!

Wow, I thought for sure you'd been doing this longer! So glad you made the decision to start up your store. I LOVE this book and wish it was one I could use with my kids! I do own a copy, so I could recommend it to a few high readers. It would have been my favorite in 5th grade if it had been around!
