Have I thanked you lately for following and/or reading my blog? Hopefully, most of you read the TpT newsletter a few weeks back and were able to claim my Christmas gift flash freebie for teaching author’s purpose with the five purposes: persuade, inform, entertain, explain, and describe. Here’s a video montage I threw together to help your students learn this skill. If you’ve read any of my lessons, you know I always like to teach reading skills “outside of the book” and apply it to real life. There are 9 video snippets here for your students to watch and determine the author’s purpose. Have your students number a blank sheet of paper from 1-9 and then show the video.
Oh, and so that you don’t have to make one yourself, here’s the key.
If your school doesn’t allow Youtube, I recommend using either Safeshare TV or Savetube.com to view these. I use Savetube for all of my videos so that I can store them on my hard drive and use them year after year without worrying about them going away!
Hey, thanks for being a follower!
