Linking up with Doodlebugs and Five for Friday!
2. Linking up again (TRIPLE dipping here!) for Flashback Friday!
Yesterday, I took 9 of my students to our district Student Council convention. It was GREAT! After the opening general session, the kids were split up into groups and rotated through several different sessions. The teacher advisors, on the other hand, were pooled into the cafeteria, a.k.a. “hospitality room,” for the duration of the day! We had a few games and prizes, treats, lots of visiting, and in my case – grading papers! It was a great refresher and I truly enjoyed that surprise break. I think I had a better time than my kiddos did! If you’re arranging for any type of convention in the future, I highly recommend the “hospitality room” technique!
3. Do you SCOPE?
For teaching nonfiction throughout the year, I really enjoy my subscription to Scholastic Scope magazine. I get them at least once a month (sometimes twice) and they are always filled with high-interest non-fiction and come ready to go with rockin’ printables to meet just about EVERYTHING common core. There’s also great fiction in there, too! SCOPE is a language arts magazine, so it covers literature, non-fiction, grammar, AND writing. I HIGHLY recommend it! I’m sure I’ll post more about it in the future, but for now you can follow this link and just click to view the awesome printables that come along with the magazine! There are also videos and other interactive resources as well for your interactive white boards.
4. Testing week is DONE! Need I say more? 🙂
5. It’s been about a month since I officially “launched” my blog, and I’ve already got 65 wonderful followers! Additionally, I’ve got 76 followers to my TpT store! I could NOT be happier about this. I smell a giveaway in the future!
Happy Friday Everyone!
